What if I don’t know how to hula hoop?
By attending a Hooper Evolution workshop/class, you will learn the proper techniques for hula hooping. You do not need any experience! Even if you have been unsuccessful at hooping in the past, Kristyn will show you that with the right posture and motion, and an appropriately sized hoop, you can do it!
Do I have to bring my own hoop?
No, you do not need your own hoop. Hoops will be provided for free to use in class. However, you can bring your own hoop if you would like, as long as it does not exceed 2.5 pounds.

I have one of those big exercise hoops that is covered in foam, can I bring that to use?
No, those types of hoops are too heavy to use for long durations and may injure your internal organs. Please refrain from bringing these to class. Also, please do not bring child sized hoops (bought at Toys R Us, Walmart, Target, etc.). These are not designed for adults and will be too difficult to use.
What is the best age for hula hooping?
Anyone can hula hoop and Hooper Evolution workshops/classes are designed for adults of any age. Since Hooper Evolution workshops/classes are not designed for children, participants should be at least 13 years old. Please note, if you have any injuries or illnesses that prevent you from engaging in physical activity, you should consult with your doctor before participating.
Is hula hooping for women only?
No, hula hooping is for men and women! While it is more typical to see women participating in this activity, Hoopnotica has male instructors and plenty of male students. Men and women are welcome at Hooper Evolution workshops/classes.
What should I wear?
You should wear comfortable exercise clothing, and preferably a long shirt (sometimes shirts tends to ride up while hooping). Natural fibers (i.e. cotton) are better than synthetics because synthetics make the hoop slip. You should also wear sneakers to protect your toes! Please note that certain studios will require you to bring your sneakers in hand and wear a different pair of shoes outside so the studio does not get dirty. Please respect this rule.
What should I bring?
You should bring a water bottle and your smile.
